Dioramas

Diorama can refer either to a nineteenth century mobile theatre device, or, in modern usage, a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase for a museum. Dioramas are often built by hobbyists as part of related hobbies such as military vehicle modeling, miniature figure modeling or aircraft modeling.

Unlike before, these are real miniature models...

Anatomy

The anatomy of a lego man, gummy bear and animal ballon are a little more complex than you would think!

If you build it they will come.

Not sure if i'm going to be able to make it to the Olympics this year in Beijing...but with the help of HKLUG they help put it all in perspective...well sorta. They have put their lego collections together and recreated the venues that will be used during the Olympics in Beijing this year. The attention to detail on these models are incredible...Some of the recreated venues are: The National Stadium (nicknamed “The Bird’s Nest”), National Aquatics Center (”Swimming Cube”), and Olympic Village.

The pics are below...

Air....Piano???

Omer Yosha has created a pretty cool instrument. The Air Piano is an electronic piano of sorts that lets you play notes without touching any keys. It uses infrared technology to detect movement and plays a music note based on where the movement came from. If you leave your hand hovering over a spot the Air Piano will sustain the note. It also appears that you can change octaves by raising or lowering your hand over one of the sensors. It seems that infrared technology has come a long way from the days of the Sega Activator.

Desert Eagle .50 vs. replicas

This LEGO DESERT EAGLE .50 by BrickGun puts to shame all other mindless LEGO designs, like tables, chairs, clocks, or birdhouses. BrickGun specializes in custom LEGO guns and this GLOCK 17mm is built as close to the real GLOCK as possible, with a pull back slide, active trigger, and a first-time-ever shell ejector port. Price and release aren’t available, but you can be sure this pistol whipper won’t be a shot in the dark.

I might cop, no lie...

CubeCraft

CubeCraft is a site dedicated to pumping out free paper figures of iconic animated caricatures for artsy folks who still like to fiddle around with toys. Fans of the paper art need only to download, print, cut and fold the toys into their interlocking tabs to have the models stand straight up on their desk.
