Champion of Courage

" True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost."

“If I were to say, ''God, why me?'' about the bad things, then I should have said, ''God, why me?'' about the good things that happened in my life.”

"You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy."

Below are a few funny comments that I saw on FB last night...

"Michigan St. needs a bailout..."

"damn how many records are we gonna break tonight?"

"Kongrats to da Carolina! We got this in the bag! skrew the "hills" yall should be watchin the real HEELS!"

"Our Father, who art in Chapel Hill, hallowed be thy game. Thy tourney come, thy championship be won, in Detroit as it is in the Dean Dome. Give us this day our deserved victories. And forgive us our turnovers, as we forgive those Spartans who cheer against us. And lead us not into defeat, but deliver us from the upset. For N.C. is the basketball kingdom, and the tradition, and the glory, forever and ever, amen!"

"THIS AIN'T SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

Leave Nothing

Nike has a great reputation for makes some of the best commercials. They lived up to their expectations last year w/ their "Leave Nothing" campaign...

Two of my favorites...

First up is the commercial directed by one of my favorite directors, Michael Mann. This commercial stars Shawne Merriman (San Diego Chargers) and Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams). The song is called "Promentory" from The Last of the Mohicans.

The next commercial is made by the man behind the genius of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, David Fincher, featuring LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego) and Troy Polamalu (Pittsburgh Steelers). The song is called Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Answer

I don't follow any particular team in the NBA but if Iverson is in the lineup I'm rooting for them and him...

I'm glad he made it out of Denver and landed back in the Eastern Conference...he is on a better team, Detroit Pistons, and has a better chance of making it to the finals this year.

Even w/ Billups, Denver is at best a 6th seed...

The Answer

Although the Denver Nuggets didn't make it past the 1st round in this years playoffs (b/c they were playing the Lakers!) they still had a great season and were able to get 50+ wins in a tough western conference. One of the reasons why is b/c of Allen Iverson.

One of the best guards to have EH-VERR played in the NBA. If anyone wants to refute that...be my guest!

"Iverson's ability to effectively employ such a versatile combination of scoring methods — driving to the basket, drawing fouls, shooting from outside, and creating his own shot off of the dribble — all at only six feet tall, has made him one of the most distinctive and dominant players in NBA history."
~according to the webster dictionary under iverson, allen

Its alright A.I., your still #1 in my book...

hockey

my hombre went to a hockey game....

" I went to my first professional NHL hockey game last night. We sat really close to the ice rink. I saw plenty of faces smashed against the glass right in front of me. The Philly Flyers versus the Phoenix Coyotes. Off the hook. High energy. Unfortunately, not too many fights. TV does hockey zero justice. I'm a fan now.
These fans in Philly are hilariously rude. When they announced the starters for the Coyotes, for each name, the fans shouted, "he sucks" really loud. Everytime the opposite team scored, curse word combinations I never heard before were yelled. This one time, somebody shouted "fire that muthaf*#$*a" really loud and the dude behind me stood up and shouted, "thank you brother, you took the words right out of my mouth, f#&@ him!" What a culture! I was thoroughly entertained.

makes me wanna go to a hockey game...have u ever been?
