graduation

oh yeah, i made it.

movies...

A lot of people say that i am harsh when it comes to movies. I'll admit, I am quick to judge at times but so movies either have it or they don't. so movies have to grow on you. Perfect example, the first time I watched "Dumb & Dumber", I was with my brother and he was telling me how funny this movie was. I think I laughed twice throughout the whole movie. It took me a while but I watched it again...and I was surprised at how hilarious the film was. I consider it a classic now...

Blade Runner! Definitely one of my favorite films of all time. It's kind of hard to explain why I love this movie so much. My explanation is as complex as the movie is...deep on so many levels. These are one of those movies where you either love or hate it...I have yet heard of a person who casually like this movie. There is something that draws you in, the complexity of the characters and the relationship with each other as well as you, the music which plays on the emotions of the characters and the setting. Nod to Vangelis for the sound track....I personally love "Memories of Green" and "Love Theme"

The "Final Cut" edition of the movie came out yesterday (12/18). There were a few versions of it released a 2 disc, 4 disc, and a 5 disc. I got the 5 disc set....it comes w/ a few extra features and things...a plastic brief case (suppose to be a replica of the Voight Kkomp case from the movie) Definitely a nice box set that comes with stills from the film, the unicorn figurine , and a small model 995 police car. The extra discs are the goodies of the whole package...they go into great detail of the film and it 25 yr history. I've only watched two of the disc; "The Final Cut" of the film and the deleted/extended scenes. Even though I have 3 more disc to look through, I am already looking at the film from different angles.

I could ramble on for days but I think I'll cut it short for now...if you have any questions feel free...

oh yeah since my ipod broke on me and "I feel some type of way" towards apple...i broke the norm and bought the less trendy and one of the under-dogs in the mp3 player market = Zune. when i get in the mail...i'll let you know what I think about it.

hockey

my hombre went to a hockey game....

" I went to my first professional NHL hockey game last night. We sat really close to the ice rink. I saw plenty of faces smashed against the glass right in front of me. The Philly Flyers versus the Phoenix Coyotes. Off the hook. High energy. Unfortunately, not too many fights. TV does hockey zero justice. I'm a fan now.
These fans in Philly are hilariously rude. When they announced the starters for the Coyotes, for each name, the fans shouted, "he sucks" really loud. Everytime the opposite team scored, curse word combinations I never heard before were yelled. This one time, somebody shouted "fire that muthaf*#$*a" really loud and the dude behind me stood up and shouted, "thank you brother, you took the words right out of my mouth, f#&@ him!" What a culture! I was thoroughly entertained.

almost at the finish line...

today was the last day of classes...and i am just a few steps (2 exams) away from graduating. Honestly it hasn't hit me yet. It probably won't until I find myself sitting on my brothers' sofa in my pajamas, eating Captain Crunch, watching sports center, and trying to figure out what i'm gonna for rest of the day...let alone the rest of my life.

"What do you want to be when you grow up???" The infamous questions that adults ask kids, whose world consist of snack time and show-and-tell. This is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer...and what makes it worse is when they try slightly modify the question: "Well what do you want to do in 5 years???"

"I don't know what I'm gonna be interested in 5 years...i know what i want right now, well kinda ...but hypothetically speaking, if I am the same person I am now in 5 years then I want to do this...."

I guess this is one way to answer it. Honestly, 5 years is a long time, except when your looking back of course, but a lot of things can happen during this time which will shape and mold you into the person you are at that present time. Your interest will change, you'll have an new outlook on life, you no longer like to have Ranch dressing with your salads anymore, ect, ect...

Basically this is how I am now...5 and 1/2 years of college and I am a completely different person.

when it rains it pours...

Murphy's Law - "Anything That Can Possibly Go Wrong, Does"

-lost my camera
-ipod broke (and apple won't fix it)
-almost ran out of gas
-phone died
-and the batteries in my tv remote died.

*as of 6:41 pm, 11/25/07.

i know the last couple of ones are kinda small but it is not like it made anything better...
the first two things though really blew my mind! (side note: I LOVE TO TAKE PICS AND I LOVE MUSIC!!!)

i have taken more than 10,000 pictures with that camera. It was a Sony Cybershot P-200 and i have the extra lens attachments (wide angle and zoom in lens)...and now all i have is the lenses...

as for the ipod = overpriced, over-rated piece of sh!t. the freakin headphone jack broke...i only get sound out of my left headphone speaker...what is that all about!!! My manufacture warranty ran out this past May, and no i didn't buy an extended warranty. so yeah, basically i have an really, really nice external hard-drive and i am pretty sure the battery is going to die sooner or later...oh yeah i drove an apple store, 1hr out of my way, just to hear them tell me that they couldn't/wouldn't replace or fix it...

***if you have an ipod and it still is under that manufacture warranty, i suggest you extend it...

i've lost gas plent of times before...so no biggie...since i didn't lose gas this time...and i was on the interstate...but thankfully the tercel has a "flux capacitor and can run off of 1.21 gigawatts"

cell phone dying = no biggie...i probably could find a person on earth or mars that hasn't had this happen. besides after losing my camera and ipod, i didn't feel like talking to anyone...

and to top things off...after a long a$$ day, the batteries in my remote died...and it happen to be on one of the most boring channels on tv...PBS aka UNC-TV aka "The Sesame St." channel. when i was younger i didn't have cable, so i only had about 5 channels...ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and sometimes Fox. the only time i turned to PBS was to watch "Sesame St." hence "The Sesame St." channel. well unfortunately since it was late in the evening, you guessed no "Sesame St.", it was a boring interview between two old people...do they even show "Sesame St." anymore???

but i try not to get to down...it could always be worse, but hopefully tomorrow will be better day...besides its not like i have anything left to lose/break....knock on wood!

hello

my plastic glasses

when you think of these three words what comes to mind...hmm? plastic glasses or plastic glasses...well when i think of that phrase, i think of two things; it can either be a plastic glass that you drink out of (which is an oxymoron) or a pair of plastic glasses, those great inventions that help the visually impaired. i have owned several of both.
