play w/ word(s)...

here are some interesting/funny anagrams...

anagram - a word, phrase, or sentence formed from another by rearranging its letters: “Angel” is an anagram of “glean.”

Britney Spears = Priest's nearby?

Clint Eastwood = Old west action

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton = Tally ho(!) Iron-handed criminal.

Elvis = lives!

"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." = A thin man ran; makes a large stride, left planet, pins flag on moon! On to Mars!

The Answer

Although the Denver Nuggets didn't make it past the 1st round in this years playoffs (b/c they were playing the Lakers!) they still had a great season and were able to get 50+ wins in a tough western conference. One of the reasons why is b/c of Allen Iverson.

One of the best guards to have EH-VERR played in the NBA. If anyone wants to refute that...be my guest!

"Iverson's ability to effectively employ such a versatile combination of scoring methods — driving to the basket, drawing fouls, shooting from outside, and creating his own shot off of the dribble — all at only six feet tall, has made him one of the most distinctive and dominant players in NBA history."
~according to the webster dictionary under iverson, allen

Its alright A.I., your still #1 in my book...

15 yrs ago...

pls read, pls leave your thoughts

15 yrs ago America was the same but yet it was different....

In light (darkness) of the recent acquittal of 3 New York cops shot a African American male, Sean Bell, father and soon to be husband, 50 times just hours before his wedding (link), you can't help but think of the what if's and the wtf's.

15 yrs ago a similar situation dealing w/ cops happened in L.A. Early in the month of March 92', Rodney King was beaten by a group of police officers...a few weeks later on March 29th the officers were aquitted.

the aftermath (March 29th - May 4th):

I was only 9yrs old at the time of the Rodney King incident, so I didn't fully understand the racial divide and tension that existed in America and to be honest, I still don't understand it 15 yrs later...

I watched the news today to see if NY (or any other city) was burning and it wasn't. It took me a sec but I soon realized that maybe that it is a good thing that we are not seeing a repeat of the violence that took place in LA. Hopefully this shows that we have progressed as a ppl...and have found other means of expressing our outrage and disgust for the things that happen in America...hopefully...

others may disagree and feel that we have lost that sense of purpose & urgency, sense of who we are and/or have we become numb to everything around us.

idk...but these are confusing times...

In closing and from the end credits in "Do The Right Thing" by Spike Lee:

"Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys a community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers."

- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"I think there are plenty of good people in America, but there are also plenty of bad people in America and the bad ones are the ones who seem to have all the power and be in these positions to block things that you and I need. Because this is the situation, you and I have to preserve the right to do what is necessary to bring an end to that situation, and it doesn't mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time I am not against using violence in self-defense. I don't even call it violence when it's self-defense, I call it intelligence."

- Malcolm X

"a lot of black people don't have the privilage to know about grape juice, b/c they have grape drink...ITS NOT THE SAME FORMULA that you get!!!"
~d. chappelle

When I was young, I always knew you were part of an elite group of privilaged kids. if you had the top self stuff from the local Food Lion then you were categorized in this group, whether you wanted to be or not.

example of top self stuff you ask...Cap'n Crunch.

I was raised on Frosted Flakes or the nasty and bland a$$ Cheerios. I think I have a mild form of lactose intolerance so there was no help on making those Cheerios taste any better...so I usually (past and present) eat my cereal dry and I wash it down w/ a Vanilla Coke, Grape Drink or...

Not saying there is/was anything wrong w/ Frosted Flakes...well, until I was introduced to Cap'n Crunch.

I remember tasting Cap'n Crunch for the 1st time, I must have been at least 10 yrs old. It was at my friends house and he was part of that so called privilaged group, so he had all the amenities...every game system (nintendo and sega!), newest toys (the hard to find TMNT) and cable (at the time it was around 60+ channels). cable is another thing I didn't have growing up...so I was the kid in grade school, pretending to have seen the new Power Rangers episode the night before.

One day, after staying over his house, his mom woke us up to a breakfast that had just about every shape (portion) in the food triangle. complete w/ the O.J. (w/ pulp) and Cap'n Crunch. I just remember thinking, "Cot dayum, I'm poor and I gotta get me some Cap'n Crunch!" munch munch munch...

After I convinced my mom to put Cap'n Crunch in the breakfast rotation, I never strayed away from eating breakfast and I've been eating Cap'n Crunch ever since...and over the years though I eventually upgraded to Cap'n Crunch w/ Crunch Berries...

lol...I know this maybe random as h3ll but...this is one of those things that remind me to be grateful for what I have/had...

rot your teeth out.

I'm not a real big candy person anymore but when I was younger I ate candy as a substitute for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (maybe that is why i'm so small) All of my cavities came from Skittles...I was addicted...I would mix them w/ gum (when the flavor ran out) or i would put them in soda...But mom-dukes got tired of taking me to the dentist and she slowed down my Skittles consumption. So I found a new addiction...

PEZ candy. Everything a growing kid needs:

INGREDIENTS:
Sugar, glucose, syrup,
citric acid,
emulsifier: E471;
hydrogenated vegetable fat,
colours:
E 104, E 124, E 132;

When I was younger used to have a goofy PEZ dispenser. I think I bought it at the $1 Tree and it also came a gang of PEZ candy....never got a cavity from PEZ, so mom-dukes was cool with me eating them...

The good ol' days...

An artist by the name of Atypyk customizes his PEZ dispensers, taking them from a sugar high dispenser to a piece of art. Indulge yourself at the gallery (link).

I love the fact that modifications are very subtle and refined.
