Voodoo

I found a pretty good mini documentary on one of my favorite albums...D'angelo's magnum opus...Voodoo.

"The term R&B doesn't mean what it used to mean. R&B is pop, that's the new word for R&B...(Contemporary R&B)'s a joke, and the funny thing about it is that the people making this shit are dead serious about the stuff they're making. It's sad—they've turned black music into a club thing."
~D'angelo circa 2000

Ironically this album...more specifically this video caused D'angelo to lose his mind and possibly is explains his 9 yr absence from the music scene...

I heard he was making a comeback...possibly this year???

How old is fifteen really?

I think I've posted just about every second of this stand-up....but this routine is pure genius!

Barnes Dance

The one night that I spent in the Shibuya district of Tokyo during my excursion in Japan in 06' was nothing unbelievable...and not long enough...

I was by myself that night...away from the other study abroad students...and this pic reminds me of a few things I did that night:

-I walked back and forth through this crazy intersection several times that night...

-I bought a cup of coffee at the Starbucks on the right...

-I bought two cd's from the HMV; Donny Hathaway's These Songs for You, Live and the Lost in Translation soundtrack...

-I bought an Epiphone SG 400 from a guitar store that was somewhere off on the left of this pic...

good times, good times...

thanks Barnes.

The high-tops are better...

imo i think they look better...

Curious Case of Forrest Gump?

Niki and I both thought Ben Button bared a similar and charming resemblance to a movie about another guy who was born under unusual circumstances...

"Its exactly like Gump....except no Aids..."

lol

All jokes aside, they are both great and memorable movies and although they are similar, the concept and central point of the two stories are completely different. don't let the vid mislead you...Ben Button isn't Forrest Gump redux.

and one more note, the similarities may be due to Eric Roth...he wrote both screenplays...
