Mac or a PC?

My computer died on me about 2 weeks ago...which is one of the reasons why my posting has slowed down.

So i'm back on the market and looking to "invest" in a new computer that'll last for a while. I'm on the fence between getting a pc or getting a macbook...its been a pretty hard decision b/c there are several factors involved. the biggest factor is $$$.

ironically the new macbooks dropped the day after my computer died...go figure...but w/ a $2000 price tag i had to shift gears and I tricked myself in believing what i repeated to myself that night as i fell asleep "I can go a few days (weeks) w/out a computer."

man i was wrong that worked until i woke up the next morning. these last 2 weeks have been horrible and painful...i didn't realize how dependent i was on my computer: paying bills, talking to niki, blogging, shopping...

Mac or a PC? each has their pros and cons and i'm still weighing them...

My teacher is an alien...

Do you remember these books?!? Problably one of the most checked out books in my elementary school's library and sadly these are few books of the handful of books that I've read in my 24 yrs of existance...nostalgic...

Ran across this pretty interesting interview at Gizmodo w/ the author, Bruce Coville

Chester French, Janelle Monae' and NERD Concert pics!

Concert was great!

Chester French, never heard of em' before...but they aight...

Janelle Monae did her thing!!!! And I got an autograph from her...as she grabbed the t-shirt out of my hands, i got a little weak in the knees...nah just playing but i was like "Oh sh!t son (!) she just touched my hand!!!!"

NERD def. brought the house down...from beginning to end...i was tired as hell after their show...and i'm sure some guy(s) lost their girl that night! one of the best concerts I've been to!

Yea I know what you are thinking..."What about Common?" It was 11:30pm and he still wasn't on stage...I was there since 7:30pm and I had to a meeting the next day at 8:00am...I was tired and had to go...so I said I'll catch Common on BET or something...I'm sure he did a great job tho...if you want a few pics from his performance click HERE

banana in the tailpipe...

Pharrell's new jacket (click here) reminded me of a movie that I watched a million and one times...i didn't have cable growing up so watching and re-watching movies wasn't uncommon for me...trailer below.

Pay attention at the 0.18 second mark...

I realized last night that I have an appreciation for old school movies...like the one above. I will probably be one of those old grandpa type of guys who only watch from his childhood and say stuff like "I don't get movies now-a-days...its all about space, aliens and sex...wtf?!?"

Just in case your confused about this post's title...i got it from this Beverly Hills Cop clip...

Send It On to you...

Out of touch?!?

Below is the $3 million "projector" that McCain mentioned in the last debate...and just in case you missed it...McCain said "$3 million for an overhead projector at a planetarium in Chicago, Ill. My friends, do we need to spend that kind of money?"

The real story behind John McCain's debate attack on Barack Obama's vote to fund a projector, turns out not to be a projector at all - but a a full dome projection system. Thats like calling a space shuttle a glider...

McCain once again shows how out of touch he is and how he has no understanding of science or technology...

The man who dreamed of electric sheep...

I found myself watching Minority Report until 2:30am last night/this morning...I forgot how good this film is...below is man behind it and others...

Philip K. Dick (December 16, 1928 – March 2, 1982) was an American science fiction novelist and short story writer. Dick published 36 novels, 14 short story collections and wrote approximately 121 short stories, many of which appeared in science fiction magazines.

Although Dick spent most of his career as a writer in near-poverty, nine of his stories have been adapted into popular films since his death, including:
-Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?)
-Total Recall (We Can Remember It for You Wholesale)
-A Scanner Darkly
-Minority Report

In 2007, Dick became the first science fiction writer to be included in The Library of America series.

Although I haven't cracked open a book in a while, I think I'll head to Barnes and Noble later on 2nite to pickup one...
