The Obama-mobile

Not sure if this is legit but this is one serious Cadillac!

And I thought my Grandpa's Caddy was loaded...

Photobucket

Just a few thoughts on this Obama transformer...

-This car probably weighs as much as a herd of elephants...

-Who needs 20" rims when you have Kevlar-reinforced tires with steel rims underneath?!?

-"Defense" accessories include: Night vision cameras, pump-action shotguns, tear gas cannons.

-Although it only gets 8 miles to the gallon(?!?), the petrol tank can withstand a direct hit thanks to a special foam and armor-plating.

-8mpg and a top speed of 60mph. Better hope the driver only has to escape go-carts and only has to go 10 miles.

-The driver's window opens so he can pay a toll? What, they don't have EZ-Pass on this thing yet?

-And to top it off...It comes with bottles of blood compatible with the President's blood...just in case..

Photobucket

This is why house inspections are important...

Mirror's Edge

The video below is in-game footage of a game that came out last month called Mirror's Edge. A lot of hype surrounded this video game after this vid premiered at E3. The game's instills a freedom of movement not yet seen in the first-person genre. Its physics and movement is based off of a form of training called, Parkour.

Watch the vid to see what I'm talking about.

I tried to do something like this when I was 14 yrs old. I jumped off my friends balcony and I thought I was cool until I tried to stand up. Foot broken into pieces!!! Thats when my dumba$$ thought I was invincible...never again!

"And Im floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today...
...Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
Im feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go..."

Addiction: Video games

Today was a sad day for the gaming world after hearing about a Canadian teen named Brandon Crisp and he, like may kids his age (15) and older, played video games. A few weeks ago his parents became concerned about their son after realizing his "addiction" to playing Call of Duty 4...and after seeing how it was affecting their son's social life and grades, they decided to take away his Xbox 360.

This action ended up backfiring on them and Brandon ran away...this happened almost a month ago on October 10th...

I was hoping this story would end happily but unfortunately it didn't. Sources have reported that on November 5th hunters discovered what is believed to be Brandon's body in a field near what had been the police search area. An autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause of death and confirm the identity. Sources said they didn't suspect foul play. Click HERE for the developing story.

This story is so sad and I can relate to it b/c I, like Brandon and millions of other kids around the world, play video games. Although I don't play them as much as I used to, I understand the "dependency" that people have on them (whether good or bad).

I also understand the concern the parents had...When I was younger my mother took away my Playstation too...b/c of my supposedly "addiction". It ended up working for me and I realized how much time I was spending/wasting playing it but that doesn't mean it is the only way to address/fix this "problem".

Ironically, the game I play the most right now is Call of Duty 4.

When they eventually address gaming addiction there will be a fight to point the blame. Do you blame a video game company b/c they delivering product, the family or both?

Mac or a PC?

My computer died on me about 2 weeks ago...which is one of the reasons why my posting has slowed down.

So i'm back on the market and looking to "invest" in a new computer that'll last for a while. I'm on the fence between getting a pc or getting a macbook...its been a pretty hard decision b/c there are several factors involved. the biggest factor is $$$.

ironically the new macbooks dropped the day after my computer died...go figure...but w/ a $2000 price tag i had to shift gears and I tricked myself in believing what i repeated to myself that night as i fell asleep "I can go a few days (weeks) w/out a computer."

man i was wrong that worked until i woke up the next morning. these last 2 weeks have been horrible and painful...i didn't realize how dependent i was on my computer: paying bills, talking to niki, blogging, shopping...

Mac or a PC? each has their pros and cons and i'm still weighing them...

Out of touch?!?

Below is the $3 million "projector" that McCain mentioned in the last debate...and just in case you missed it...McCain said "$3 million for an overhead projector at a planetarium in Chicago, Ill. My friends, do we need to spend that kind of money?"

The real story behind John McCain's debate attack on Barack Obama's vote to fund a projector, turns out not to be a projector at all - but a a full dome projection system. Thats like calling a space shuttle a glider...

McCain once again shows how out of touch he is and how he has no understanding of science or technology...

Creating a favicon

For Stew and all the other bloggers out there...

Favicon: also known as a website icon, or shortcut icon; it is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage.

Example below: click to make larger!

Step 1: find an image

Step 2: create an Favicon.ico image
-Use this site to create it: IconJ
a. upload image, then click the "Upload it!" button.

Step 3: You can either download it or it have them host the picture.
Just to make things simple...have them host the image...copy the code under the "Host It at IconJ.com: (Direct Link) section"

Step 4. Here's where it gets just a little tricky. You will need to edit your Blogger template. I got a little nervous doing this the first time I did it and you should always back up (SAVE IT!!!) your template before you change it!

Ok...so go to your blog and click on "Layout" in the Dashboard. Then click the "Edit HTML" tab.

Now you will need to search for the word “title” , this should be inside the header tags. You should find something that looks like this:

Just after that line, paste the text you copied from Icon J's in Step 3. After you have pasted it, click "Save Template" then refresh your blog and KA-BOOM!!! you should see a little icon next to your web address!

If you are having problems, leave a comment and tell me...

If you get it to work let me know as well...

Live Long and Prosper,

Kid a.

Amazon called...

As expected my order was canceled...it was worth a try.

Sunday, September 7, 2008

46" LCD = $38.45

I just bought 4 46"lcd from amazon for $550!!!!!!

Someone at Amazon seriously f*ck'd up b/c they marked a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV for $38.45...no joke, check the pic.

******UPDATE****************************************************************
Unfortunately, the price is correct now...but my transaction receipt still reads $38.45...
*****************************************
*************************************

I immediately called my credit card company and the reassured me that if the price is incorrect and the company realizes it after you made the order, they that can't charge me more unless they contact me 1st and if I agree to the "new/correct" price.

There were other tv's marked down to $40 in various sizes...but they were gone/corrected by the time I found out.

Worst case scenerio: the company cancels my order I get my $$$ back.

So we'll see what happens...I'll probably get a phone call on Monday from Amazon to tell me that they are canceling the order...

Thank you GIZMODO (<- click for article) for the heads up!

Myth Busters + 1100 Barrel Paintball Gun = Mona Lisa

Adam and Jamie unveiled a 1100 barrel paintball gun and—in an instant—painted a pretty convincing (if slightly drippy) Mona Lisa. Watch vid below.

The presentation was intended to represent the difference in operation between single and multicore processors, referring to current gen CPUs versus GPUs, respectively.

I spy, I find...Google Earth...

Pretty cool app by the web-searching giant, Google, Google Earth is a virtual globe program that maps the earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe

F*ck MapQuest unreliable a$, I'm getting directions off of Google Earth.

compared to Google Maps, on Google Earth you are able to make the buildings 3D and also to rotate the camera horizontal as well as vertically. Take a look at what downtown Atlanta looks like:

download Google Earth -> HERE

now for the funny/interesting stuff you can do with Google Earth/Maps.

****if you are using Google Maps don't forget to put the map in satellite mode****

here are a few interesting findings (not by me of course, i don't have that much free time)

The giant pink bunny (Google Earth coordinates 44.244273, 7.769737)

Google's satellites sometimes catch the Earth's inhabitants on the move, like these ten African elephants (Google Earth coordinates 10.903497, 19.93229).

This geological marvel is called The Badlands Guardian by locals (Google Earth coordinates 50.010083, -110.113006)

Oprah Winfrey's celebrity weren't big enough already, an Arizona farmer built a 10-acre homage to the talk show host (Google Earth coordinates 33.225488, -111.5955)

Sometimes Google Earth is lucky enough to catch things as they happen. Here Google Earth captures a truck that crashed (Google Earth coordinates 46.765669, -100.79274)

Bikini and thongs on Australia's Bondi Beach (Google Earth coordinates -33.892351, 151.27538)

Camels and their caretakers taking a water break in Nigeria. (Google Earth coordinates 15.298693, 19.429661)

Some of the sights you find in Google Earth are just plain mysterious. For example, why is a fighter jet parked in a local parking lot? (Google Earth coordinates 48.825183, 2.1985795)

Type the coordinates in yourself to see.
